Reduce financial barriers for high school seniors pursuing undergraduate degrees in the arts, increase the inventory of art-focused opportunities across the educational landscape and foster a vibrant community where creativity and innovation thrive together.
As an Indian River High School alum, Jay Pharoah has been providing scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors majoring in the Arts since 2014. Growing up as a drama kid and having a great love for the arts, Jay aspires to create opportunities for future creatives in the Hampton Roads area and is convinced that supporting creatives with programs to enhance their artistic genius will increase their confidence, help balance the psychological playing field and assist in their feeling capable and accomplished, like their STEM counterparts. These changes, along with training provisions, Art programs augmentations, gateways to propel artistic aspirations and a desire to support the community and bless others, as he has been blessed, has led to the establishment of the Pharoah Phamily Phoundation (P3H).
Ramona Farrow, an Information Technology careered professional, was blessed with an opportunity to understand the differences between creatives and STEM focused personalities. Being the mother of two creatives, while utilizing structure, rules, and procedures to guide her own career, she noticed her children, who were extremely bright and capable, beat to a different drum. After powering them through their adolescent years and seeing their commitment to careers in the arts, she was happy to help her son develop and build a foundation supporting the arts, and creating additional pathways for creatives to be seen, heard and thrive.
At Pharoah Phamily Phoundation, we envision a world where art-focused students receive equitable academic support and abundant opportunities across the educational landscape.
Our volunteer staff and support environment is made up of educators, parents, administrators, creatives, student ambassadors and businesses positioned to balance the playing field and help students see their worth and soar to their rightful heights.
We empower creative learners to embrace their unique gifts, recognize their potential, and celebrate their talents through our Support, Education, and Art (SEA) initiatives.
